Thursday Boot Company has officially launched its first retail store on the West Coast, located at 449 Octavia Street in San Francisco. This new outlet marks the company’s fifth location across the United States, complementing existing stores in New York, where two additional locations operate.
Located in the vibrant Hayes Valley neighborhood, the store showcases the complete range of the company’s products. The design, developed in collaboration with CHB Designs and All Day Breakfast, embraces the local character with warm wood accents, bright metal features, and clean architectural lines that nod to the area’s Victorian heritage. The color palette draws inspiration from San Francisco’s famed fog, incorporating soft blues, muted greens, and gentle greys throughout the space.
In a bid to support local craftsmanship, the store prominently features items from Bay Area artisans and tradespeople. Vintage furnishings have been sourced from local shops, including Stuff in the Mission District and Grand Central Station Antiques in Oakland. The design also pays homage to the city’s beloved dive bars, with playful elements like a dartboard, pool table accents, and curated vintage barware, evoking the brand’s origins.
“Our first days as a company were spent selling boots out of bars, one person at a time,” said Wilson, the company’s co-founder. “We wanted to capture that same warmth and hospitality, a place that feels welcoming the moment you step inside. Whether it’s a new pair of boots or a physical store, we always believe the details matter.”
To celebrate the grand opening, Thursday Boot Company is hosting an event from now until January 18, 2026. Festivities include daily exclusive product giveaways, complimentary refreshments, and free tattoos with purchase on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of local tattoo studio Idle Hands.
Looking ahead, the company has ambitious plans for further expansion. With a factory in operation and years of production optimization behind them, Thursday Boot Company aims to accelerate its retail presence across new cities in the United States. “We are moving swiftly but intentionally, choosing distinctive locations for stores that feel as considered as our footwear and apparel,” Wilson added. “Hayes Valley is an early step in a long journey ahead.”
As the company continues to grow, it remains focused on creating spaces that reflect its values and commitment to quality, ensuring that each store resonates with the local community.
