HRS, a French leader in hydrogen refueling stations, has opened a new subsidiary in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as part of its strategy to expand internationally. This move aims to enhance the company’s presence in a region poised for significant growth in hydrogen mobility, marking a pivotal step in HRS’s global development efforts.
The establishment of HRS Dubai aligns with the company’s objective to solidify its commercial and operational footprint in areas where investments in low-carbon hydrogen are rapidly increasing. The Gulf states, benefiting from vast energy resources and modern infrastructure, have set ambitious goals to become major hubs for hydrogen. This new location will enable HRS to address the rising demand from local authorities, investors, and mobility operators for sustainable hydrogen solutions.
With international orders constituting 67% of HRS’s total orders in the previous financial year, the subsidiary’s launch is in perfect harmony with HRS’s growth agenda.
Strengthening Regional Ties
By situating its operations in Dubai, recognized as a regional nexus for energy and innovation, HRS enhances its connections with decision-makers and stakeholders in the Middle Eastern hydrogen sector. The company aims to support significant projects in the area and foster long-term partnerships with both public and private entities focused on transport decarbonization.
HRS has already demonstrated its capabilities by successfully deploying its first operational hydrogen station in Neom, Saudi Arabia, which has been in operation for over a year. This accomplishment showcases the effectiveness of HRS solutions even in challenging climatic conditions.
The Dubai office will be led by Yanis Mouhamou, Business Developer, who is tasked with identifying local opportunities and coordinating strategic initiatives. He will report to Rémi Poncet, the Commercial Director of HRS.
Hassen Rachedi, Founder and CEO of HRS, stated, “The Middle East benefits from an exceptional ecosystem for the development of hydrogen mobility: competitive hydrogen production, a long-term strategic vision, and proactive public policies. Our presence in Dubai allows us to be at the heart of this dynamic and to provide concrete support for the ambitions of the region.”
