Alaska Airlines Launches Nonstop Service from Humboldt County to Seattle

Alaska Airlines has announced the introduction of nonstop flights between the California-Redwood Coast Humboldt County Airport (ACV) and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) starting on April 8, 2026. This service will mark the only direct connection from the Redwood Coast to the Pacific Northwest, enabling travelers to access 79 cities with a single stop, including new routes to Asia and Europe.

Travelers can begin booking tickets today through Alaska Airlines’ website. The announcement was made by the Humboldt County Administrative Office, highlighting the significance of this service for both residents and visitors. “We’re delighted to begin flying our guests between our hometown airport in Seattle and the Arcata-Eureka area,” said Kirsten Amrine, Vice President of Revenue Management and Network Planning at Alaska Airlines. She emphasized the appeal of Northern California’s scenic beauty, including its iconic redwoods.

Community Response and Historical Context

The introduction of these flights comes after Alaska Airlines last served the area in 2011 with routes to Portland. These upcoming flights represent ACV’s first direct service to Seattle, a long-awaited demand from the community. “Humboldt County is thrilled to welcome Alaska Airlines back to the Redwood Coast,” stated Michelle Bushnell, the Second District Supervisor and Board Chair. She acknowledged the extensive collaboration among local agencies that made this development possible.

The new flights will operate seven days a week, featuring a mid-morning departure from SEA to ACV and a mid-afternoon return. This schedule is designed to accommodate various travel needs, whether for business or leisure. All flights will utilize the Embraer 175 aircraft, which offers 76 seats without middle seats, ensuring each passenger has access to a window or aisle seat. Additional amenities include Wi-Fi, in-flight entertainment, and power outlets in first-class seating.

Travelers can find more details and book their flights at Alaska’s official website. For further information on the California Redwood Coast-Humboldt County Airport and the local aviation department, interested parties can visit FlyACV.com.
