Florence Launches Inaugural Mayor’s Academy for Community Engagement

The City of Florence has announced the launch of the inaugural Mayor’s Academy, a civic education program aimed at providing residents, business owners, and community members aged 18 and older with an in-depth understanding of local government operations. This initiative is set to take place on Thursdays from 18:00 to 20:00, starting on February 12, 2026, and concluding on March 19, 2026.

The program invites participants to engage directly with the Mayor and various city department leaders. Attendees will tour city facilities and gain insights into the day-to-day workings of the Administration Department and other key departments. This hands-on experience is designed to illuminate how decisions are made, how services are delivered, and how the city functions on a daily basis.
