Guozi Robotics Powers Hithium’s New Intelligent Factory in Texas

Hithium’s manufacturing facility in Texas has reached a significant milestone by commencing “mass production and delivery.” The factory, which covers an area of 480,000 square feet and represents an investment of nearly $200 million, is set to achieve an annual production capacity of 10GWh of battery modules and systems. This advancement has been made possible through the collaboration with Guozi Robotics, which provided a comprehensive integrated production and logistics solution to support the establishment of an intelligent logistics system throughout the plant.

Guozi Robotics has supplied Hithium with over one hundred intelligent logistics robots, including reach truck automated guided vehicles (AGVs), mini stacker robots, underride lifting robots, and heavy-duty transport robots. Additionally, the company has equipped the facility with high-bay racking, electrically controlled buffer racks, overhead cranes, and automatic doors, all while enhancing the integration of various equipment.

Innovative Technologies Transforming Operations

One of the standout features of the logistics system is Guozi Robotics’ reach truck AGV, which incorporates multi-navigation fusion technology combining vision and LiDAR. This AGV can handle loads of up to 1.2 tons and reach a lifting height of 7 meters, achieving a docking accuracy of ±10 mm. The robot interfaces automatically with material carts, product fixture carts, and production line machinery, enabling efficient material distribution and assembly tasks.

The heavy-duty transport robot is equally impressive, boasting a load capacity of 60 tons with a similar positioning accuracy. All robots within this project have received UL certification, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Guozi Robotics has implemented an innovative “integrated delivery” model to address challenges typically encountered in large-scale overseas intelligent logistics projects. This approach involves the integrated debugging and testing of logistics robots, equipment, production lines, and docking systems in China, prior to their deployment on-site in Texas. Upon completion, the entire logistics system was packaged and shipped as a whole, significantly reducing the implementation cycle by 30% compared to similar initiatives.

Global Expansion and Future Prospects

Since launching its global operations in 2016, Guozi Robotics has expanded its reach across North America, South America, Europe, East Asia, Southeast Asia, and Central Asia. The company has successfully delivered large-scale applications across more than ten industries, including e-commerce, automotive manufacturing, construction machinery, and retail. This extensive overseas experience positions Guozi Robotics as a leader in intelligent logistics solutions.

The partnership with Hithium marks a significant step in the evolution of manufacturing technology, showcasing the potential of intelligent logistics systems in enhancing operational efficiency and production capabilities. As the factory ramps up production, it is poised to play a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for advanced battery technologies in various sectors.
